Why do strandfontein people deny that they live in Mitchells Plain. You have the same postal code 7798

Colorado people are the same. Don’t be embarrassed that you live in the Cape Flats. Rather be proud to show people that the whole Cape Flats isn’t as Ghetto as everyone in the rest of cape town think it is.

No, Mitchell’s Plain’s postal code is 7785, and Strandfontein is 7798. does it mean Mitchell’s Plain has 2 postal codes?

    Good day all.

My family and I have recently moved to Strandfontein.

We have noticed lots of wonderful and uplifting community groups and community awareness. We see from time to time youngsters walking our streets, accompanied by police officers and proud of their home, neighbourhood and community.

I’d just like to see one very simple change in the people who pass by or who live in our surrounds, and that is a raised consciousness of our environment. We are bombarded on a daily basis through various media to make subtle changes to our habits, through reusing, recycling, etc. Despite all these pleas I still feel that our community has turned a deaf ear to these simple requests. It grates me when I drive down our streets and see countless people throwing their empty containers out of their car windows, or youths just dropping their papers as they leave shops, or every time I open my front door and without fail there’d be papers and rubbish at the entrance to my home. Its not to say there are no bins at our disposal, in fact, there are plenty. These little things can make such a huge impact on the way we live and treat each other. Littering in your own living environment says a lot about how much you value your own living conditions, let alone what you think of your fellow neighbours.

I have a small business which I run from home and time and again I have clients coming by and I am so disgraced when I see the litter on our streets. Be considerate of others and abandon the “devil may care” philosophy many of us have adopted.

Lets instil a sense of pride, ownership and responsibility.

    After all, its OUR neighbourhood.

An exceptionally good post. This short article sums up for me what this topic depends upon and some of the important benefits that can be resulting from knowing about it as if you. A friend once remarked that you have a totally different mindset when you do something for certain as opposed to when you’re simply just toying with it. In the case of this kind of topic, I believe you are taking, or start to think of, a more professional as well as thorough approach to both what and how you write, which in turn helps you to carry on and get better and guide others who don’t know anything about what you have shared here. Thank you.

You clearly have not thought this video out properly. I have been in Strandfontein since 1979 I grew up here and love the area BUT, if I didn’t know any better and had to use this video as an reference of the area I would not want to buy or live in this area. Next time get some more info and rehearse the whole thing before switching on the camera and talk about something that you know or get someone that knows the area to so the video.

Anonymous thank you for your comment. It’s great when people of the area has ideas and thoughts. Maybe mentioning a few tips or things that could improve the video for yourself and others would be of great help. As we trying to make this a window for the world to see inside of the areas and not just a Cape Town thing but a personal view of the people living in the areas.
